Andreas Christensen joined Chelsea as a 15-year-old back in 2015, and the Dane international has been one tipped for greatness over the years.
Chelsea legend John Terry had seen enough of the Danish defender during his time at the club and predicted that he’d do well for the Blues.
Back in 2014, Terry backed the Denmark international to become “one of the future men for Chelsea”
“Believe me, I am sure that he will be a top footballer and one of the future men for Chelsea.” Terry told TV2 Sporten, per Sky Sports.
“I talk to him daily, train with him and try to give him as much advice as I can.
“I have always told him that he should chase me and knock me off the team. He should be hungry to take my place in the team.
“For me, Andreas is a brilliant footballer and he will certainly get his chance at Chelsea.”
Terry’s prediction has indeed come to pass as Christensen played a major role in the Champions League final against Manchester City.
The 25-year-old has been brilliant under Thomas Tuchel and has confidently replaced Thiago Silva in the middle of the back three anytime he has been called upon. He came on as a 39th minute sub for Silva in the Champions League final and produced a massive performance as Chelsea defeated Manchester City 1-0 to win the Champions League.
