Chelsea had been linked with a move for Inter Milan striker Romelu Lukaku, but the Belgian had come out to say he wasn’t leaving Inter during the summer.
The rumours of a likely exit came out after Antonio Conte’s exit from the Inter job, and Lukaku had to speak with the new manager before deciding he’d remain at the club.
“Yes, I am staying,” Lukaku told VTM.
“I feel good at Inter.”
“I’ve already had contact with the man who normally becomes our new manager [Simone Inzaghi]. Maybe I shouldn’t say that yet… but it was a very positive conversation.”
Lukaku’s agent, Federico Pastorello, has now given the final verdict on the Inter Milan striker. He revealed that he met with Inter’s hierarchy this week, and from their conversation, the Milan club aren’t looking at making a sale.
“It went well, we took stock of various situations,” Pastorello told FCInterNews when asked about his meeting.
Asked if Inter are ‘calm’ about their situation regarding Lukaku, Pastorello replied: “Yes, sure, sure.
“Romelu is on vacation and I think he deserves a holiday like he’s taking, there are no problems.”
