The Chelsea men and women’s team were very dominant last season, and both teams are preparing hard for the new season.

Chelsea have now smashed a record deal in the Women’s Super League (WSL), as the Blues have moved to sign Lauren James (the sister of Reece James) from Manchester United.

With both clubs having agreed terms, James has already completed her medical and is now expected to join manager Emma Hayes’s double-winning side in a deal worth an initial £200,000, rising to £300,000 with add-ons – the biggest transfer ever between two WSL clubs.

With medicals done and dusted, all that is left is personal terms between the club and the 19-year-old forward, before she’d would join her brother Reece in west London.

Lauren watched her brother feature in the Champions League final in May, as the Blues defeated Manchester City in Porto. She’d definitely be glad to be playing for the same club as her brother, and of course the Chelsea women’s team are way more successful than the Manchester United women.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
