Chelsea have officially confirmed the sale of Marc Guehi to Crystal Palace.
We brought reports of an impending sale three days ago after the completion of his medical, and the deal has now been made permanent.
Chelsea confirmed the transfer via its official website: “Marc Guehi has today signed for fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace on a permanent deal.”
It added: “Guehi will now move to Selhurst Park and link up with new Eagles boss Patrick Vieira. We wish Marc well for the future and thank him for his contributions at Chelsea.”
The 21 year old Chelsea academy graduate spent last season on loan at Swansea, helping them reach the play-off final last season.
Guehi is highly rated by both clubs and a reported fee of £20m is believed to have been agreed by the two clubs.
Chelsea were unable to put a buyback option in the deal. The Blues were keen to include a buyback clause in the deal but the two clubs have settled on a matching rights option for the Blues along with a sell-on clause should he move on from Palace.
