According to Daily Express, Chelsea director Marina Granovskaia has told Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel the three Chelsea players she’s keen on selling to raise transfer funds.
Chelsea spent big in the transfer market last summer despite the financial implications of the Covid-19 pandemic and Granovskaia is reportedly keen on selling some first-team players this summer to raise transfer funds.
The report claims Granovskaia wants to sell Tammy Abraham, Hakim Ziyech and Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer to raise funds for the Blues.
While Tuchel is happy to see Abraham leave, he isn’t convinced Ziyech and Hudson-Odoi should be sold this summer despite not giving both players regular playing time last season.
While Abraham, Hudson-Odoi and Ziyech could leave this summer, Tuchel expects Marcos Alonso to remain at the club.
The Spaniard was reportedly a target for Barcelona this summer as they look to build their strength-in-depth.
Alonso made just 17 appearances in all competitions across the campaign, comfortably the fewest of any of his five seasons at Chelsea.
But despite the 30-year-old’s lack of playing time, Tuchel is keen to keep Alonso at the club due to his tactical flexibility, with the player able to play as a full-back, wing-back or on the left of a back three.
When Barcelona reportedly enquired about signing Alonso this summer, Tuchel blocked Chelsea from selling the left-back.
