Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed the Blues would be interested in a move for Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez if his move to Barcelona collapses.
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid are said to be in advanced talks for a swap deal that would see Saul Niguez join Barcelona and Antoine Griezmann join Atletico Madrid.
Both players were teammates at Atletico Madrid before Griezmann left for Barcelona two years ago.
26 year old Saul Niguez has been with Atletico since 2008 and has a release clause of £128million in his contract.
Romano tweeted: “Barcelona and Atletico are in advanced talks for swap deal between Saúl and Griezmann! Both players gave the green light in the last hours.
“Barça and Atléti now negotiating on price tags. Barça want money included.
“Liverpool and Chelsea keen on Saúl if deal will collapse.”
