Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed sport stadiums and events across England will be able to operate at full capacity from July 19.

After trial events at the end of last season and limited crowds being allowed back into stands throughout Euro 2020 this summer, Johnson has revealed that restrictions will be lifted entirely on July 19th when England moves to Step 4 of their exit plan.

The Prime Minister said: “We’ll move away from legal restrictions and allow people to make their own informed decisions about how to manage the virus.

“From step four we will remove all legal limits on the numbers meeting indoors and outdoors. We will allow all businesses to reopen, including nightclubs, we will lift the limit on named visitors to care homes and the numbers of people attending concerts, theatre, and sports events.”

The ruling means Chelsea will be able to host 41,837 fans at Stamford Bridge from the start of the new season in August, as well as at the friendly game against Tottenham on August 4.
