Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher has a high reputation at the club and the club believes he can go on to have a very good career.

Chelsea FC confirmed on Friday that Conor Gallagher has left the club on a season-long loan deal to Crystal Palace.

It will be a second Premier League loan exit for the 21-year-old, who made 32 appearances and scored two goals for West Brom last season.

Gallagher impressed for the Baggies in the central midfield position, and he’d be working under a coach who was a world-class midfielder in his days, Patrick Vieira.

According to The Athletic, Vieira wants Gallagher to play in a more advanced role in an attacking 4-3-3 formation for Palace.

Gallagher had played in a double pivot position in pre-season for Chelsea and played played as a box to box midfielder while under Slaven Bilic and Sam Allardyce whilst on loan with West Bromwich Albion last term.

In Vieira’s new system at Palace, Gallagher will be expected to have more freedom to express himself offensively.
