A Chelsea fan by name Charlie Naughton passed away while watching England’s round of 16 clash against Germany.

As Harry Kane scored the second goal for the Three Lions, the 29-year-old Chelsea fan slumped while watching the game in his local pub, and was left with the paramedics who fought hard to save his life but to no avail.

Harry Kane has now vowed to ‘give it everything’ to honour the memory of Charlie Naughton ahead of England’s quarter-final clash against Ukraine.

Ahead of England’s match against Ukraine in Rome on Saturday, Kane wrote on Twitter: “I’m so sorry to hear about Charlie passing away – my thoughts and condolences go out to his family and friends.

“We will give it everything tomorrow and for the rest of the tournament for fans like Charlie. RIP Charlie Naughton.”

Chelsea right-back Reece James also posted: “Rest in peace Charlie. KTBFFH [Keep the blue flag flying high].”

Charlie’s sister Dollie said: “My darling brother Charlie. Words can’t explain the pain we are all in right now, you truly are one in a million. Always us four against the world.

“They really do take the best cos u sure was char. Sleep tight my angel, I’ll love you forever and I’ll see you again one day.”

Meanwhile, a GoFundMe has also been set up to raise money to help Charlie’s family with funeral costs.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
