Maurizio Sarri has looked back at his time at Chelsea as he spoke to Sport Italia journalist Alfredo Pedulla in a recent interview.

Sarri has hailed Olivier Giroud, Pedro, Jorginho and of course N’Golo Kante from his time at Chelsea.

For Sarri, Giroud is a great professional who delivers in time of need, and he was also pleased with the performance and winning mentality of Pedro.

Sarri also reserved praise for Jorginho and Kante.

The former Chelsea boss said: “[Giroud] is a great professional, one of those who always exist in times of need. Before the Europa League final, Zola asked me what ideas I had: I replied that Giroud and Pedro, the others, would certainly play tomorrow.

“He would have chosen nine. There are two who have never failed a final. [Pedro] is a player who never misses the important game, I have a weakness for this type of small, fast and technical players. He is another of those undervalued players, he has won everything.”

“In my opinion Jorginho is more suitable for [a midfield] three than two, he is very intelligent and adapts to everything. Kantè is monstrous, at very high speed he makes 3.5 km while the average is 2.2. He recovers a thousand balls, he can play two or three.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
