Chelsea are working hard in the transfer market to ensure that the club meets its target. Some players have left the club, and there are also some incoming deals.
It doesn’t end there, the Blues are also working on the home front to secure key players and tie their futures to the club.
Jorginho is one of such players who are close to the end of their contract. The 29-year-old has two years left on his current deal, and Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the club has made it a priority to extend Jorginho’s deal, after an extraordinary Euro 2020 tournament with Italy.
Speaking on his Here We Go podcast, Romano said: “Chelsea are working on Jorginho’s contract as one of the priorities this summer and the coming months,” said the transfer guru.
“They want to Jorginho to stay. He has a contract until 2023 but they are already talking with him over a potential extension.
“It will take some time because Chelsea usually works with calm in these situations.”
Jorginho has also been tipped to win the Ballon d’Or this year after playing a key role in becoming a European champion for club and country.
