Chelsea had been linked with a move for Romelu Lukaku this summer, but the Belgian and his agent had since shut down those rumours by saying that they aren’t interested in any move away from Inter Milan.
Inter Milan had sold Achraf Hakimi as the club were deemed to be in a tight financial situation, but Lukaku’s agent spoke with the club and was told that they wouldn’t need to sell Lukaku in order to balance their books.
However, a new report from Euro sport claim that Lukaku is now open to a return to Stamford Bridge.
The report claims that although Lukaku is happy in Milan and is yet to push for a summer exit, he would jump at the chance to play a starring role for the Blues after struggling to hold down a first-team place during his previous spell at the club.
We’d take this report from Euro sport with a pinch of salt, as every talk regarding Lukaku has since been shut down.
However, one thing we’ve known in transfer happenings over the years is that, until the window is shut, you never say never.
