Chelsea midfielder Jorginho has been gaining so much plaudits over the past few months.
Jorginho was one of the stars of the Euro 2020 tournament as he dictated play in the middle of the park to help Italy win the Cup.
Jorginho was also key for Chelsea in the Champions League, as the Blues ran out winners.
The Italy international was brought to the club by Maurizio Sarri in 2018, but many Chelsea fans never seemed to appreciate him and he was often criticised by the English press.
The 29-year-old is now being appreciated by fans more and he is also being tipped as a contender for the Ballon d’Or.
Following his recent praises, Chelsea hero Pat Nevin has revealed that he doesn’t believe Jorginho only got better, but that he has been very good since the time of Sarri.
“Jorginho has been unbelievable,” the former Chelsea winger said when speaking about Jorginho’s Euro 2020 performance.
“It’s an interesting thing. In the darkest days when Jorginho was getting stick when Sarri was manager, I wasn’t having it.
“I was trying to say, ‘wait a minute, this guys’ unbelievable, this guys’ running games, this guys’ controlling games.’
“I’ve always thought he was brilliant for what he does.
“Number of people are saying now, ‘he’s playing better now.’ No, he’s not; he’s playing exactly the same way he’s always played.
“Jorginho is impressing me now, but no more than he’s always impressed me. I’ve always liked him a lot.”
