Arsenal are reportedly leading the race to sign Chelsea striker Tammy Abraham, with the Blues open to letting the striker leave for £40million.
The 23-year-old is believed to be keen on leaving Chelsea after a lack of game time under Thomas Tuchel.
However, despite Abraham’s desire to leave, reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea aren’t willing to let him go in a hurry.
Romano squashed talks that Arsenal have submitted a bid, although he admitted that the Gunners have an interest in the Chelsea striker.
The reputable reporter however maintained that Chelsea will only sell Abraham when the club secures a replacement, with Olivier Giroud having secured an exit already.
Speaking on the Don Robbie YouTube Channel, Romano said of Abraham’s future: “There are a lot of rumours.
“First of all, I think Chelsea will wait to have a new striker before selling Abraham.
“I’m told Arsenal’s interest is serious so they like the player and they appreciate the player. They’d like to invest in the player.
“But it’s not true that they’ve made a bid to loan the player with an obligation to buy for £40m.
“Arsenal’s position is they’ve made no bid at the moment. They just want information on the player about the price. They’re waiting to see what happens.”
