Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will have sleepless nights in the next few days after the Blues entered the race to sign a key Manchester United transfer target.
According to Spanish media outlet Onda Cero, Chelsea have made a late move to sign Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane.
The France international centre-back wants to leave Real Madrid this summer after ten years at the club and is keen on joining a Premier League side.
Manchester United have reportedly agreed personal terms with the 28 year old defender but the Blues believe they can hijack the deal for Varane.
Despite having a plethora of centre-backs at the club already, Thomas Tuchel is believed to be keen to bring in an additional central defender and they have previously been linked with two other Frenchmen: Jules Kounde and Maxence Lacroix.
It is believed Real Madrid will accept a €50million transfer fee for Varane as the defender has just one year left on his Real Madrid contract and isn’t interested in extending his contract with Real Madrid.
Can Chelsea successfully hijack Manchester United’s Varane deal or are the Blues too late?
