According to 90min, West Ham would make a move for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley should they fail in their bid to sign Manchester United midfielder Jesse Lingard.
Lingard had a successful loan spell at West Ham last season and they are keen on signing the midfielder on a permanent deal this summer.
However, West Ham boss David Moyes believes Barkley is the perfect alternative should West Ham fail to sign Lingard.
Barkley found himself surplus to requirements at Chelsea last summer and subsequently joined Aston Villa on loan.
There’s little to no expectation of Thomas Tuchel using him this season and a move to West Ham might just be perfect for the midfielder.
