Chelsea have been linked with many top strikers this summer, but it’s yet to be seen if the club will be able to get their striking target.

Borussia Dortmund are proving to be stubborn for Erling Haaland, and Inter Milan president Massimo Morrati has also insisted that Romelu Lukaku is not for sale.

In fact, Chelsea have already failed with an €100million offer for Lukaku which also included Marcos Alonso in part exchange.

Chelsea haven’t still given up hopes, and reports from Italy claim Chelsea are targeting Inter’s financial weakness. Inter are in a bad financial situation and even had to sell defender Achraf Hakimi.

Inter have reportedly dismissed Chelsea’s opening bid for Lukaku, but Sky Italy claim they could shift their stance and cave in to Chelsea’s demands should the Blues, as expected, offer in the region of €110m.

Although Lukaku said that he’s not leaving Inter, football reporter Peter O’Rourke has said that things change in football and players don’t always say the truth to the media.

According to O’Rourke, all Chelsea have to do is place a bid of £100m for Lukaku.

“Lukaku’s always been on their (Chelsea’s) list,” he said.

“But their (Inter’s) financial issues mean maybe he could be gettable this summer.

“I think if someone like Chelsea were to put down +£100m for Lukaku this summer, that’s going to be hard for Inter to turn down.

“Even though the players come out and said he’s happy at Inter and he wants to stay in Italy, I think this could be taken out of his hands.”

He then added: “I think if that does happen, Lukaku will gladly make the move back to Chelsea.”
