Liverpool legend Graeme Sounness has been left impressed with Chelsea’s summer signing Romelu Lukaku.
Chelsea have signed back Lukaku for a club record fee of £97.5m, and Lukaku marked his return to the club with a goal on his debut.
Besides his goal, Lukaku was a beast against the Gunners and his all-round performance was top class.
Liverpool legend Graeme Sounness believes Lukaku can go on to do better than club legend Didier Drogba.
On Lukaku’s return to Chelsea, Souness told The Times: “He is ready to be the main striker that Chelsea have lacked since Drogba left in 2012. In fact, he’s potentially better than him.
“He has everything that Drogba had and more. Drogba was a scorer of all types of goals and Lukaku is the same.
“He can get in a race with people, he can win headers at the far post, he can get across defenders at the near post, he can power his way into scoring situations that less physical centre forwards can’t.
“He’s a centre forward that centre halves will not enjoy playing against. When you’re his size, normally you’re static and playing with your back to goal and centre halves like that.
“What they don’t like is someone who’s stronger and quicker than them and Lukaku will be stronger and quicker than most of them.
“Chelsea have a great squad and they have cherry-picked one of the best three strikers available to improve it.”
