Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount was one of the stars of the Chelsea team last season as the Blues won the Champions League, reached the final of the FA Cup and sealed a top four finish.

Mount will thank former boss Frank Lampard for giving him an opportunity to break into the Chelsea first team, as he is now a key player for club and country.

Lampard has now backed Mount and other young English players to improve following the Euro 2020 final defeat to Italy, as he believes that the experience will make them better.

“He (Mount) can and they can [get better from it],” said the Blues legend.

“Young players like Declan Rice, Phil Foden, Sancho’s coming to the Premier League now, I think they will be better.

“For whatever their experiences were, whether it ended in disappointment to different degrees of course because they didn’t win, I know they would have been desperate to do that.

“Once the dust settles, I think you appreciate that you’ve got a tournament like that behind you. I certainly felt the confidence off the back of that.

“So, hopefully they feel that and take it back to their club football.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
