Chelsea have since sealed a deal for goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli and the Blues are set to seal a record deal for Romelu Lukaku.
Another signing Chelsea are expected to make this summer is a deal for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde.
The Spanish side are believed to be interested in Kurt Zouma and want him to be part of the deal, but the Frenchman has opted against a move to Spain.
Chelsea are now set to make a fresh bid for Kounde, and Sevilla sporting director Monchi has said they are prepared to sell Kounde for the right price, but are yet to hear from Chelsea, while also warning that many clubs have asked about the buzzing defender.
“Many clubs have asked for Kounde,” he said.
“Of course there’s interest but no official bid is on the table.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. We will sell if an important bid arrives, this is our policy to improve the team.”
