Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has finally revealed why he pushed the club to sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan.
According to Tuchel, Chelsea’s struggles in front of goal was the key reason for signing the 28 year old striker.
“Why Lukaku? We had some trouble in scoring goals consistently with our attackers,” Tuchel said.
“I think Romelu gives us experience and personality. He is used to scoring, he is used to playing in big clubs and used to handling the pressure.”
Tuchel also believes the arrival of Lukaku will help Kai Havertz, Timo Werner and Christian Pulisic.
He said: “He can take pressure off young players like Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Christian Pulisic and that can be a huge boost for them. It is a good mix.”
