Chelsea made a move to sign Sevilla centre-back Jules Kounde all summer, but a move for the 22-year-old failed to materialise before the end of the transfer window.
According to reports, the France international was unhappy with the Spanish side for failing to sell him to Chelsea and refused to answer calls from Sevilla director of football Monchi or his manager Julen Lopetegui.
Kounde’s frustration from the failed to move to Chelsea appeared to boil over onto the pitch on Wednesday night when he was sent off for France in their World Cup qualifier against Bosnia & Herzegovina.
On Friday evening, the 22-year-old supposedly sent a cryptic message as he tweeted after his failed move to Chelsea: “You know the price of everything but the value of nothing.”
His post attracted comments from fans of both Sevilla and Chelsea as they believed he was aiming his frustration at Sevilla.
Kounde has now told everyone to chill as he simply posted a line from the track Love All with Jay-Z.
He wrote on twitter: “Chill!! It’s just lyrics, really not that deep.”
Chelsea had verbally agreed a deal with Sevilla for Kounde thought to be around £43m, but the Spanish side failed to keep to a gentleman promise and wanted Chelsea to trigger his release clause which the Blues declined on doing before deadline day.
Chelsea remain fully stocked in defence with the addition of Trevoh Chalobah, and a move for Kounde could still happen in January if need be.
