Saul Niguez would have been hoping to introduce himself to the Chelsea fans with a bang, but it didn’t work out well for him on his debut.
The summer deadline day signing was thrust into the first team for the game against Aston Villa, but he struggled badly in that game and had to be subbed off at half-time.
Interestingly, Saul had a positive outlook despite a poor debut performance.
Chelsea fan and Twitter user CFC_VS, who attended the game at Stamford Bridge, bumped into Saul after the game, and Saul was feeling upbeat nevertheless.
The fan shared what Saul told him in Spanish: “He said he knows it was not his best game but he will do better for the fans.”
Saul himself assured that his coming games will be better for the club.
“Wasn’t the expected debut,” Saul wrote on Instagram.
“Really happy with my first game and victory with the team. Incredible to see Stamford Bridge full of Blues.”
