Chelsea were not favourites for the Champions League last season, as Thomas Tuchel’s appointment in January turned things around at the club.

This season, Chelsea are looking stronger and the club has added a world class striker in Romelu Lukaku. Lukaku has proven to be the missing piece in the Chelsea team and has now bagged four goals in four games.

PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino has the best squad on paper in Europe, but he recently claimed that while he has the best players, Chelsea have a team. The Argentine hinted that he’s trying to take a cue from Chelsea and turn his PSG side to a team.

Not many trusted Chelsea as a top team that can go all the way before the start of the season. But after five matches in all competitions, many now believe that Chelsea are the best team to beat in the Premier League and in Europe, and Pochettino has indirectly hinted so.

“It’s possible that Chelsea and ourselves are the two teams to beat on paper, looking at our squads, but Chelsea are the holders so they’re the team to beat especially after strengthening their squad,” Pochettino told a news conference on Tuesday.

“We’re not a team yet. We are a club that has recruited many players this summer. There are some big names but we have to turn into a team. We know that we’ll be judged at the end of the season on our results. The pressure is there for all the clubs and we know that for a number of years, the Champions League is PSG’s main objective.”
