As fans of our beautiful club Chelsea, we expect a certain level of performance from our team and also hate losing. I understand.

While it was disappointing to lose to Manchester City in the manner we did, we also need to understand as Chelsea fans that we still have the edge in title race.

Among the big six team – Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal – Chelsea had the most difficult start to the season and we are still only one point behind leaders Liverpool.

In our first six games of the season, Chelsea have already played Arsenal (away), Liverpool (away), Tottenham Hotspur (away) and Manchester City (home). It’s no easy feat to get 13 points from this run of games.

In the weeks ahead, the Blues should be able to build all-important momentum in the top flight while also improving on the weaknesses in the team.

Our next five games in the Premier League are against Southampton, Brentford, Norwich, Newcastle United and Burnley. There are no easy games in the Premier League but these are games Chelsea should win and build momentum in the title race.

The other top six clubs will still drop points as they play against each other. Chelsea is the only top six club Liverpool have faced so far. Manchester City have faced Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea. Manchester United are yet to face any top six side while Tottenham Hotspur have faced Manchester City and Chelsea. Arsenal have faced Chelsea and Manchester City.

Let’s keep believing.
