Saul Niguez joined Chelsea on loan on transfer deadline day with the Blues having an option to sign the midfielder permanently for £30million.
According to Standard Sport, Chelsea will sign Saul Niguez on a permanent basis if he can rediscover the form that made him one of the most sought-after talents in Europe.
The report also noted Chelsea’s refusal to sign Saul permanently during the summer shouldn’t be misread as a lack of interest in the 26-year-old.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel was reportedly determined to add the Spanish midfielder to his Chelsea squad because he believed he would offer a new dimension and a top-class alternative to N’Golo Kante, Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
Tuchel believes Saul would be well-suited to his high-energy style having worked under the hugely-demanding Diego Simeone.
