Despite failing to sign Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during the summer transfer window, Chelsea have reportedly not given up hope on signing Kounde.
According to ESPN, Chelsea are preparing to return with another bid for Kounde when the window reopens in January.
The report also claims there is still plenty of negotiating to do between the two clubs if a deal to bring the 22-year-old to west London is to be completed.
Sevilla reportedly demanded Chelsea pay Kounde’s £68million release clause during the summer transfer window which the Blues were unwilling to match.
However, the Blues are only willing to enter negotiations for the transfer of Kounde in January if Sevilla are willing to accept an initial fee in the region of £40 million.
