Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech was a surprise absentee as Morocco named their 24-man squad for their World Cup qualifiers during the international break.
Morocco head coach Vahid Halilhodžić has now explained why the Chelsea player was excluded from his squad.
He said: “He [Ziyech] wasn’t disciplined during the last two national team camps, he shied away from training.
“He didn’t look like the player who’d fought to represent his country at World Cup [in 2018].
“For the first time in my career as a coach I’ve seen a national team player who doesn’t want to train, who pretends to be injured although the tests show otherwise. I won’t tolerate this behaviour while I’m here.”
