Celtic captain Callum McGregor has admitted he has been blown away by the quality of Chelsea youngster and Scotland international Billy Gilmour.

Callum McGregor has seen Gilmour from close range for the Scotland national team, and he has been left in awe of what the Chelsea midfielder is capable of in the middle of the park.

The duo started together in the same midfield against Denmark last week, and the more experienced McGregor has admitted Gilmour is a quality player.

“He is obviously technically very, very good. He sees the pictures, he sees them early… Everything he does is so simple, but it looks great. And that’s the sign of a good midfielder; he can make difficult things look easy,” McGregor said.

Gilmour is currently on loan with Norwich City, as he continues to make progress from regular play time.
