Romelu Lukaku believes Antonio Rudiger’s fantastic solo run from deep inside Chelsea half was good for the fans but admits the defender should have passed the ball to him.
Picking the ball deep inside Chelsea’s half, Rudiger dribbled past several Zenit players and found himself on the edge of the Zenit box.
Lukaku was open alongside him and screaming for a pass, that surely would have resulted in a goal but Rudiger opted to go for glory and blazed a shot wide.
Speaking about the incident, Lukaku laughed and said: “I fed off the atmosphere. I expected the ball from the end [from Antonio Rudiger]!
“It was good for the crowd, it got them going and got us going. I would’ve been the first one to say fair enough, but he should have passed!”
