Except proven otherwise, Chelsea might not really need Saul Niguez for a permanent transfer. While it’s still early days, Saul has been unable to show in two games that he could pick up at Chelsea.
The Premier League this season is a tough terrain, and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel won’t have much time to test things as the race for the Premier League title is at its peak so early in the season.
Already, Ruben Loftus-Cheek has shown that he deserves a place in the team ahead of Saul, and even Ross Barkley impressed in his cameo appearance last week in the League Cup.
Another Chelsea midfielder is also proving his worth away on loan, and that is Conor Gallagher. The 22-year-old has been one of Palace’s best players this season and was particularly impressive in their 1-1 draw with Brighton on Monday night. He won the penalty for Palace and surely didn’t deserve to draw the game with his performance.
Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has said he loves everything about the Chelsea midfielder who’s on loan to Crystal Palace.
When queried what aspects of Gallagher’s game he admired most, Henry said on Sky Sports: “Everything.
“The way he puts pressure, the way he makes his team play, he makes the box.
“He has an eye for a goal at the minute, he’s way higher than when he used to play for West Brom on loan from Chelsea.
“I think he’s a player that loves to be unleashed, so let him go, let him go and put pressure, let him go and play, let him go and tackle.
“I thought he was outstanding.
“Conor Gallagher shouldn’t be at the end of a team that didn’t win the game today.”
