Chelsea continued their unbeaten start to the season with a 3-0 win over Aston Villa, with Romelu Lukaku scoring a brace either side of Mateo Kovacic’s strike.
Lukaku opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 15th minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic from inside Chelsea’s own half.
It was a fine move by the Blues, and Kovacic’s pass from deep to Lukaku was inch perfect, and the Belgian ensured he utilised the pass by putting it into the back of the net with a fine finish.
Speaking about his pass for Lukaku, Kovacic has revealed that it was all about the run of Lukaku whom he hailed as a top striker.
“With players like Romelu, you understand the movement,” said Kovacic after the game.
“He made a great move and the ball in the end was good and we scored a perfect goal, so it is amazing to have such a big player in our squad.
“He is a great addition, a great character, and I don’t need to talk about what kind of player he is. He proved himself wherever he was. He is a big player for us and I hope he will continue like that.”
