Romelu Lukaku scored his first ever goals at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0 to maintain our unbeaten start to the season.
Lukaku opened the scoring for Chelsea in the 15th minute after receiving a brilliant pass from Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic from inside Chelsea’s own half.
With Kovacic doubled Chelsea’s lead early in the second half with a first-time finish into the bottom corner from Tyrone Mings’ weak back pass, Lukaku would go on to seal the win for Chelsea in injury time with a powerful finish down from the edge of the box after receiving a pass from Cesar Azpilicueta.
Lukaku has been hailed as the missing piece in the Chelsea team as Chelsea lacked goals last season, with Timo Werner fluffing his line so often, despite having been signed to make the difference with his goals.
Lukaku has now set a record that wouldn’t seem nice to the other Chelsea players, as no Chelsea player has scored two goals at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel took over the club.
According to Squawka stat, no Chelsea player has scored more Premier League goals at Stamford Bridge since Thomas Tuchel took over than Romelu Lukaku (2). Surprisingly, he’s only played one game at Stamford Bridge this season.
Nice one big Rom!
Meanwhile, Timo Werner is yet to start a game for Chelsea since Lukaku was signed, and he was a late sub in the win against Villa.
