Man City ready to pay £100million for Chelsea transfer target next summer

Premier League rivals Manchester City have reportedly joined Chelsea in the race for West Ham midfielder Declan Rice.

According to The Sun, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola wants to sign Rice as a replacement for Manchester City midfielder Fernandinho, who is in the last year of his contract and is apparently unlikely to sign a new deal.

West Ham value Rice at around £100million and Manchester City are reportedly willing to match West Ham’s asking price for the midfielder.

The Englishman’s current contract runs out in 2024 and there is no immediate pressure for West Ham to offload him.

Manchester City are said to have tracked Rice since he broke into West Ham’s first team at 18 and placed him high on their list of transfer targets.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Rice in the last two summer transfer windows but are unwilling to match West Ham’s asking price for the midfielder.
