Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham believes United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer still has more to do if he wants to achieve success with the squad he has.
Following the summer additions of Jadon Sancho, Raphael Varane and Cristiano Ronaldo, there are still doubts whether United can win the league.
However, Chelsea only signed Romelu Lukaku, and the Blues are seen as one of the favourites for the title.
Teddy Sheringham believes Solskjaer is behind Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel and also Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola.
“I don’t know if it makes them genuine title contenders, it’s a lot to do with the manager as well,” Sheringham said while speaking at Maurice Newman’s charity Golf Day in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital..
“You’re coming up against other very good managers, who also have very good teams.
“Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea has made a massive difference, we all know about Jurgen Klopp and I love Pep Guardiola.
“You’ve got to get Ole Gunnar Solskjaer up to that level. He’s got the talent in his squad to match them player for player, but that little fine-tuning from the manager could be the difference for me.”
