Chelsea are well covered in the goalkeeper area, as the Blues have two top goalkeepers in Edouard Mendy and Kepa Arrizabalaga. Chelsea also have an able third choice cover in Marcus Bettinelli.
Mendy has been in top form this season, and the UEFA best goalkeeper of the season is yet to concede from open play in all competitions. His only conceded goal was a penalty against Liverpool.
Meanwhile, Mendy has refused to take all the credit and has claimed that all three goalkeepers push themselves to be the best.
“When you play for this kind of club, you will find big competition [for places], a big fight for playing,” he told Chelsea’s website.
“You can see it at Manchester City and at Liverpool – two good goalkeepers who are ready to play. So you have to be the best for yourself but for the team also because when the coach puts you on the pitch, you have to show why he called you.
“Every time you have to show it, and you have to push each other at training. It’s competition and Kepa, me or Marcus [Bettinelli], we want to be the best for the team.”
