It was a tactically disciplined performance from Juventus as the Old Lady got all three points in Turin against a Chelsea side that flattered to deceive on the night.

Chelsea passed the ball sideways and couldn’t penetrate Juventus defence all game long.

See how the players fared in our Champions League defeat to Juventus.

Mendy: Looked confident even though he didn’t have much to do. Was beaten by a fine Chiesa goal and there was little he could do about it. 6/10

Azpilicueta: Looked stiff in the right wing-back position. Didn’t have the pace and trickery to cause any harm going forward. 6/10

Christensen: Had a tough time trying to stop Juventus counter. Chiesa made a meal of the Chelsea defence tonight. 6/10

Thiago Silva: Seemed confident and comfortable at the back. Was Chelsea’s best defender tonight. 7/10

Rudiger: Beaten by Chiesa for Juventus only goal, but it’s the entire backline that seemed to sleep off. 6/10

Alonso: Looked far from his best and had to be subbed off at half-time. Didn’t cause any harm going forward and got a needless yellow card for pushing Juan Cuadrado. 5/10

Jorginho: Looked off the pace and couldn’t find a penetrative pass behind the Juve backline. Subbed just before the hour mark. 6/10

Kovacic: Looked very average, and some of his passing at the back nearly cost the team. Not his best game. 6/10

Ziyech: Didn’t offer much to the team. Struggled to do anything tangible tonight. 5/10

Kai Havertz: Missed some good headed chances, but that was all from him all game. Wasn’t creative at all and lacked spark. 5/10

Lukaku: Was isolated for much of the game and starved off the ball. Got more services late in the game but missed a good chance and sent one header wide. 6/10

Subs

Chilwell: Seemed better off than Alonso tonight, but offered nothing much. 6/10

Loftus-Cheek: Brought more assurance to the team’s play after coming on. But the Juventus defence was well stocked. 6/10

Hudson-Odoi: Added spark to the right flank after coming on, but nothing else came from it. 6/10

Chalobah: Did okay after replacing Jorginho in midfield. 6/10

Ross Barkley: Did okay in this game but he couldn’t offer much as well. 6/10

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
