Chelsea were interested in signing Sevilla defender Jules Kounde during the summer transfer window and even had a bid rejected by the Spanish side.
The Blues were reportedly unwilling to pay Kounde’s release clause which saw a move for the France international collapse.
Kounde was keen on joining Chelsea during the summer transfer window and reportedly agreed personal terms with the Blues before the transfer collapsed.
According to Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Chelsea will face competition from at least four clubs if the Blues make a move for Kounde in January.
The Blues are reportedly still interested in signing Kounde in January and believe a deal can be agreed with Sevilla for a winter move.
Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly also made enquiries about Kounde’s availability, but it is claimed our biggest competition is likely to come from closer to home in the form of Arsenal and Tottenham.
