Arsenal are believed to be eyeing a move for former Blues boss Antonio Conte.

The Gunners have started the season in the worst possible way as they currently sit bottom of the table and are yet to score a goal this season.

Arsenal are believed to be searching for a new manager, and have given up on former midfielder Mikel Arteta, and reports now claim that Arsenal have agreed terms in principle with Conte.

According to media outlet Todo Fichajes, Arsenal contacted Conte after their 2-0 defeat at home to Chelsea last month with a view to him taking charge in October.

However, football agent Pastorello – who represents the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Antonio Candreva and Joao Mario – has poured cold water on these rumours, telling reporter Freddie Paxton that they are ‘absolutely not true’.

Reliable reporter Fabrizio Romano has weighed on the matter and thrashed the rumours as well.

“There’s absolutely NO pre agreement between Antonio Conte and Arsenal,” he tweeted.

“Conte has no verbal/pre agreement with any club and he’s free.

“Federico Pastorello — agent close to Conte for years — confirms to Freddie_Paxton: ‘Rumours about Arsenal pre-deal are not true’.”

Meanwhile, Conte remains a free agent after terminating his contract with Inter Milan at the end of last season.
