Saul Niguez’s shirt number is yet to be confirmed by the Blues but the Spanish midfielder has revealed the number he intends to wear at Chelsea.
Saul has revealed he would likely wear the no.17 shirt at Chelsea following his loan transfer on transfer deadline day.
Saul wore the no.17 shirt at Atletico before switching to the no.8, and revealed in an interview with Ibai Llanos that he is likely to wear the no.17 at Chelsea.
He said: “It’s a number I had at Atletico Madrid, it’s a number I like. I had it at Atletico. I had it in my early days.”
The no.17 shirt is currently available at Chelsea after Mateo Kovacic vacated the number due to Ross Barkley’s no.8 shirt.
Saul will fly to London this week to visit his surroundings for the first time since penning a switch to Chelsea.
