Saul Niguez made his Chelsea debut against Aston Villa in the Premier League, but it was an afternoon to forget for the Spanish international.
The 26 year old midfielder joined Chelsea on loan from Atlético Madrid on transfer deadline day, with Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel starting him against Aston Villa last Saturday.
However, Saul struggled on his debut and had to be substituted at half-time, with Jorginho replacing him.
Saul has opened up on what Tuchel told him after the game, revealing the German’s message in an interview with transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.
Saul said that Tuchel gave him support, reassuring the 26-year-old and telling him not to worry about his debut by reaffirming his trust in his new signing.
