Alan Shearer believes Chelsea will win the league, Paul Merson rates Chelsea high, Michael Owen backed Chelsea to beat Manchester City (Owen never predicts a Manchester City defeat). This is just how much people believe in the Chelsea team.

Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Chelsea manager midway through last season, and he guided a mid-placed Chelsea team to a top four place, FA Cup final and Champions League trophy.

This season, his Chelsea team had started in fine form, and everyone just believed that the season was Chelsea’s.

Chelsea were given a dose of reality after being beaten by a dominant Manchester City side over the weekend, and Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand couldn’t believe Chelsea were that much outplayed.

In the words of Ferdinand, Tuchel has made everyone believe he’s a miracle worker after his success at the club. Ferdinand believed Tuchel would make some half-time changes that would transform the team in the second half and we all thought so too, but it wasn’t meant to be.

Ferdinand said: “It’s a testament to him (Tuchel) that we’re expecting him to go in at half-time and perform miracles and change the direction of the match because he’s done it so often. But today that didn’t happen and it was inevitable, there was going to be a time when he didn’t get it right and he’s taken the blame there as managers do. They’ll live to fight another day.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
