It wasn’t an easy game at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea defeated Aston Villa via penalties in the Carabao Cup third round clash on Wednesday night.

Speaking after the game, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel admitted that the match wasn’t easy for his side and was glad Chelsea could go through to the next round.

“It was a good game full of energy, good chances on both sides between two teams who tried everything to win,” said the Chelsea boss.

“Aston Villa played very strong, like they did 10 days ago, and again today. We also did very good.

“It was a nice game to watch, to be in the stadium for. This is also part of what we do, to have entertainment. I’m happy because we won, it was a hard one, and now we have some competitive minutes in more players’ legs.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
