Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga has continued his fine form in the absence of Edouard Mendy, as he was in goal against Aston Villa for our third round EFL Cup clash.
Kepa made some good saves during the game to ensure Chelsea weren’t knocked out of the Carabao Cup, and he proved his penalty heroics yet again as he saved a penalty as Chelsea went on to beat Villa 4-3 on penalties.
Tuchel hailed Kepa’s performance as he said after the game: “Kepa is very strong at penalties. He has good experiences in shoot-outs so we focused on that, and tried our best.
“I’m happy the players kept their cool. It’s a nice win and I’m happy because it was a tough match, a hard cup fight, and it’s a good feeling to win.”
Chelsea’s next game is against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge on Saturday, and Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel is keen to have his first choice goalkeeper ready for this crucial game.
