The big players want to play in the big games, and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has proven to be a big player for the club over the past two years.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has revealed that the 22-year-old won’t play against City this weekend, due to a knock he got in the game against Aston Villa.

Tuchel revealed that Mount was disappointed he won’t feature in this game.

“Mason is very disappointed to miss out,” said Tuchel.

“It happened in the second half against Villa, he played through the injury and finished the game. He was even confident enough to take an important penalty, so it was a surprise to see him with this injury.

“The steps he is taking are huge and maybe if the game was one day later, then he could have played. It’s a minor injury but there is disappointment for him and us because he is a player that we count on.

“But no matter the importance, no matter how we rely on him, the task is to find solutions without him and bring him back as soon as possible.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
