Saul Niguez had a debut to forget against Aston Villa, as he struggled in the middle of the park against a hard pressing Aston Villa side.
Villa were the better team in the first half until Blues boss Thomas Tuchel took off Saul at half-time, and the introduction of Jorginho gave Chelsea control of the game.
Tuchel has now revealed that he’d give Saul another opportunity in the EFL Cup against Aston Villa on Wednesday.
“Of course we want to give Saul some minutes,” Tuchel said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“First of all the guys want to have minutes, to show and to impress and to keep on pushing and we need some players to have more competitive minutes.
“We want to have a competitive team and at the same time use the opportunity to push some guys and to trust them also in a competitive cup match like tomorrow, Saul is one of them.”
