Chelsea were linked with Tottenham striker Harry Kane during the summer transfer window, as the Spurs superstar was labelled as a £150m target.

Already, we all knew signing Kane from our London rivals would be a hard nut to crack, not to talk of a shrewd Daniel Levy.

At the end, Kane never made the switch to Chelsea or even Manchester City, and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that he never asked the club directly to sign Harry Kane for him.

At most, the club made an enquiry but the Blues were never close to signing the Belgian.

“We never had a list with his name on it and I never went to Marina [Granovskaia] to tell her to buy him,” stated the Chelsea head coach.

“There are many people around players, their agents and advisors and people in between, so we had some information from these people but it was never that close.”
