Chelsea signed Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid during the summer transfer window. The 26-year-old joined the club on a season-long loan deal with the option of a permanent move.

However, it hasn’t started well for the Spaniard at Chelsea as he struggled on his debut. The new signing had to be taken off at half-time on his debut as he was overran in the middle of the park against Aston Villa.

Saul hasn’t featured in the Premier League since his debut outing, but fellow Spaniard Marcos Alonso is backing the new signing to get back his form.

When asked about Saul’s start at Chelsea, Alonso who’s currently away on international duty with Spain told Cadena SER: “Well, he’s a newcomer.

“He’s in the adaptation phase, but he’s a great player and he’s going to be very good for us.”
