Chelsea strikers Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner went off injured in the first half of the Champions League clash against Malmo on Wednesday night.

Lukaku was a menace in the game and kept troubling the Malmo defence. However, he got injured after 20 minutes of play as he was brought down by a Malmo defender in the penalty box.

The 28-year-old tried to stay on after hurting his ankle from the tackle, but immediately pointed out to the manager that he needs to be subbed off.

Chelsea ended the game with a 4-0 win, and Blues boss Thomas Tuchel admitted after the game that Lukaku and Werner will be out for a few days.

However, it was Lukaku’s injury that seemed to have disturbed the Blues fans the most. Chelsea fans have now questioned the decision to sell Tammy Abraham as there is no out and out striker who can come in for the injured Belgian.

One fan wrote: “This is why I didn’t want Abraham to leave the team, if Lukaku gets injured there’s no number 9.”

Another commented: “Tammy Abraham would have been a better sub for Lukaku.”

Well, there’s no cause for alarm. Kai Havertz will come in for the game against Norwich this weekend and he’d do a good job. He put in a good shift after replacing Lukaku against Malmo and also scored a well finished goal.
