Chelsea centre-back Malang Sarr had an impressive Premier League debut in Chelsea’s 1-0 victory over Brentford on Saturday.
Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel handed Sarr his Premier League debut in the absence of Thiago Silva and Antonio Rudiger and he made an eye-catching introduction to England’s top flight.
Malang made 10 clearances against Brentford, the most by any Chelsea player this season in the Premier League. His 6 interceptions against Brentford is also the most by any Chelsea player in the Premier League this season.
Meanwhile, Tuchel explained his decision to start Sarr against Brentford.
Tuchel said: “It’s always like this there are no easy games where you can test stuff, either you can trust or you don’t trust.
“Malang was strong in the cup game, Andreas has played now many games at the highest level, Trevor was strong on every game he played with us we have no doubt about him.
“Malang is the guy who gets his debut but he has strong players around him.”
